Let it snow in Pagosa!

Here in Pagosa Country the snow is finally here! Hopefully we get more to improve the trout fishing and fire danger for the upcoming fishing season. Big snows, big run-offs, = healthy trout! The current patterns looks very good for the summer of 2013.

The snow has been very good in the ski area, but my wife Sarah and I have done a few trips in to the back country close to the ski area. Most of these trips are mostly for exercise and to ski where we see no other skiers.

This is one of the views you get while hiking in the back country of Pagosa Springs and the Wolf Creek Ski Area.

Sarah putting on her climbing skins to accent the mountain after we skied out of bounds from the Treasure Chair Lift on Wolf Creek.

Sarah 1/2 way up to our ski line that we picked. The background is the back side of Wolf Creek Ski Area.

Big block of snow from our snow pit.  Looks pretty stable today, so we are going to ski  down our line that we picked to Hwy 160.
